Every November, Asakusa comes alive with the Tori-no-Ichi Festival, a traditional Japanese celebration believed to bring good fortune and business prosperity.
Held at Otori Shrine, the festival is famous for its beautifully decorated kumade (lucky bamboo rakes), sold by vendors who cheer and clap to wish customers success.
Explore lively stalls, taste Japanese street food, and experience an unforgettable local tradition. Whether you're visiting Tokyo for the first time or looking for an authentic cultural experience, this is a wonderful way to discover another side of Asakusa.
Important: The festival takes place on November 7 (Saturday) and November 19 (Thursday) only, from midnight to midnight on each day. It does not run continuously between these dates. Both dates are confirmed by Taito City and the organizers.

From sparkling lucky rakes to energetic festival cheers, Tori-no-Ichi offers a truly local Japanese experience. Visitors love the colorful atmosphere, delicious street food, and the chance to discover a tradition that has been celebrated for centuries.
