Experience the ancient Japanese art of aizome (indigo dyeing) in our historic Kyoto workshop. Using traditional fermentation-based indigo vats that have been maintained for over 40 years, you will learn folding, binding, and dipping techniques to create beautiful geometric patterns on a cotton tenugui cloth. The workshop covers the history of indigo in Japan and the chemistry of natural dyeing.
Very fun and creative! The staff explained everything clearly. The place was clean and comfortable.
Easy booking, friendly staff, and great experience! Will come back again next time.
