Begin your experience with a warm welcome and Japanese tea in our intimate studio in Sumida, Tokyo.
The experience starts with a 5.5-minute immersive digital art opening that transforms the studio and introduces you to the atmosphere of Japanese culture.
Next, you will learn about traditional calligraphy tools and practice essential brush techniques such as tome (stop), hane (hook), and harai (sweep).
You will then choose the kanji you would like to create. You may select a meaningful Japanese character or have your name transformed into ateji — Japanese kanji chosen for their sound and meaning.
With guidance from your host, you will create your final calligraphy artwork.
At the end of the experience, enjoy a 2.5-minute digital art finale before adding your personal seal and completing your artwork. Your finished piece will be carefully prepared for you to take home in a protective tube.
We will finish with photos together so you can remember your experience in Tokyo.
